About Us

First-hand wildlife travel guides, photography and honest destination advice.

We’re Ryan and Lottie, two wildlife-obsessed zoologists from the UK who met whilst studying Zoology & Evolutionary Biology at university.

Since then, we’ve travelled the world in search of unforgettable wildlife experiences, always aiming to observe and photograph wildlife ethically whilst travelling independently on a backpacker’s budget.

In 2023–24, we spent eight months backpacking across Australasia and have continued our adventures through destinations including Kenya, Sweden and Austria. From tracking wild tigers in India and searching for orangutans in Sumatra through to snorkelling alongside sea turtles and photographing koalas in Australia, every guide on this website is based on our own first-hand experiences, and every photograph you see has been taken by us.

We created The Wildlife Travel Blog to help fellow wildlife enthusiasts discover incredible destinations, plan unforgettable trips and experience nature responsibly through practical travel guides, photography and honest advice.

We hope our experiences inspire you to plan your own unforgettable wildlife adventures.
